Harry Bertoia
Born in Udine, Italy in 1915, Harry Bertoia started drawing at the age of 13. Just two years later Harry Bertoia emigrated to Canada and then the United States in 1930. During his diverse design career, Harry Bertoia designs spanned from sculptures to jewelry to furniture. During the 1940s, Harry Bertoia worked closely with Charles Eames on a number of ergonomic projects in order to create more practical forms of mid century modern furniture.
In the 1950s Harry Bertoia was a member of the famed Cranbrook Academy of Art. There Bertoia created his most famous furniture with five different wire chairs. These magnificent pieces have been used in hospitality, commercial and residential applications. Bauhaus2YourHouse is proud to offer high quality reproductions of the Harry Bertoia Wire collection.
